Nestled in the heart of Edgware, Chandos Recreation Ground is a cherished local park that offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Named after the Duke of Chandos of Canons, the park was established before World War II on a hilly terrain. The park retains its original gates and features tree-lined paths, shrubbery beds, and formal flower beds, reflecting its rich heritage. Spanning over 9 hectares, Chandos Park has recently undergone significant renovations as part of the Action for Silk Stream project, enhancing its natural beauty and facilities for the local community.
The Chandos Park Community Group (a group of unpaid volunteers) works with Harrow Council to make the park ‘clean, safe, friendly, and fun’.
Whether you're looking to engage in sports, enjoy a family picnic, take a leisurely stroll by the Edgware Brook trail or simply relax in a tranquil environment, Chandos Recreation Ground offers a welcoming space for all.
